Head Coach Bio

Coach Sayles has been part of the Blue Jays organization since 2013 as the Head Coach of the organization's first 18U team. This 18U team took 2nd place in the Maryland  State softball championship in their division.  Four athletes from this inaugural team were recruited by both Division one and Division two universities and/or colleges.

    

Coach Sayles prides himself on teaching and developing players to play at the next level. He continues to stay abreast of new rules and regulations as well as techniques. Coach Sayles' daughter and Blue Jays alumni, Jareece is entering her third year as an assistant coach at Virginia Union University. She continues to show a wealth of knowledge and support to coach Sayles and the Blue Jays organization.

 

Coach Sayles staff is comprised of Coach Julian Brown, Coach Markia Shade and former Virginia State Outstanding Player of the Year, Coach Marissa Hughes. Coach Marissa also serves as the team pitching coach.
